English classes have been held at the Frankenstein IBS Schule, Darmstadt since August 2007.

These classes, which have existed for over 30 years, are run by the International Kids' English Club e.V.. The club provides lessons to fluent English speaking children of approximately five years and older. Professionally trained teachers who speak English as their native language lead small groups which are divided by age and ability.

These classes are taught in English. The younger students learn the basics of reading and writing and, as they advance, they concentrate more on spelling, grammar and reading comprehension. Classes take place at the Frankensteinschule once a week in the afternoon for two school hours. In the mornings, the children attend other German primary schools. Since these classes are considered part of a bilingual programme, evaluations are sent to the students’ schools for inclusion in their school reports.
